Merry Christmas!

December 24, 2018

It’s the night before Christmas… and yes, I am still writing out my Christmas cards!

It’s a minor Christmas miracle that I got them done … and some of them sent!

As always, I had big plans of getting them done early. And as always, I waited until the last minute. I was hoping to use a photo I had but they all looked too dark or grainy or had Christian looking scared of Santa (he liked him by their third meeting!). Luckily, my friend (and talented photographer) Meghan Laboure squeezed me in and offered to take a few family shots too.

I got so excited and I rush ordered matching pajamas for all of us and matching shirts for Mo & Christian … and had everything steamed and ready to go for our shoot which I hoped to have on the beach or maybe the bay…

Day of, I don’t know who was crankier… Mo or Christian. Mo (my husband) refused to wear matching pajamas. He hesitantly agreed to wear matching shirts but only if I put a sweater over Christian’s. And nobody wanted to leave the house.

Poor Meghan. Our big photo shoot lasted a total of 10 minutes in our backyard, another 5 on my front steps, we wore one outfit and it cost me an early Christmas present ( I had to bribe Christian with Frozen figurines). All Christian wanted to do was show her his belly…. and all Mo wanted to do was get it over with (he couldn’t understand why I wanted to do it in the first place).

Somehow, we ended up with with natural, happy family photos and I am so grateful. I am also grateful that for our Christmas card I chose one where you can’t see that we forgot to cut Mo’s tags off that were hanging from the armpit (which he much later pointed out!)! Ugh!

From our family to yours, wishing you a very Merry Christmas. Thank you all for your gift of love, support and friendship.
